1) Via mental_floss, 7 Book Dedications That Basically Say “Screw You”.

2) At Masters in English, 100 Essential Sites for Voracious Readers (link via Bookriot)

3) The Diagram Prize for Oddest Book Title of the Year shortlist. My pick: Goblinproofing One’s Chicken Coop.

4) On Publishers Weekly, 10 Classic Books You Read in High School You Should Reread. Being Canadian we usually read a different set of books than these so I’ve only read Animal Farm and The Stranger -- in French. I’m been thinking about reading The Great Gatsby, though.

5) io9 got the exclusive cover reveal of Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo, sequel to one of favourite reads of 2012, Shadow and Bone.

1) Inspired by John Bonner’s comic about why Rendezvous With Rama should never be made into a movie at Tor.com, Galleycat asks What Book Should Never Be Filmed?

My first thought: the-book-that-shall-not-be-named….

2) 1o9: The aeronautic feats of a record-holding romance writer. It’s about Barbara Cartland. She built her own glider (or had it built?) amusing called The Barbara Cartland.

3) Trailer for The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Lurhmann. Great cast but… 1) it’s 3D, 2) it looks like Moulin Rogue, which I hated.

4) I have to share this cool thing — Harlequin Superromance designed the covers for 3 of Liz Talley’s books to form one image when put together. See the pics are Harlequin’s Facebook page.

5) Via The Mary Sue, 1928 is releasing a line of Marvel-inspired jewelry! I have to find a store in Toronto that sells it…
